Embark on a thrilling alpine adventure through Kashmir’s majestic wilderness with the Gangbal–Naranag Trek. This 6-day journey takes you through pristine meadows, ancient pine forests, and remote high-altitude lakes surrounded by the mighty Harmukh peak. Beginning from the scenic village of Naranag, the trek offers an immersive experience in the raw beauty of Kashmir’s less-traveled trails.
You’ll camp beside glacial lakes like Gangbal and Nundkol, walk through flower-laden valleys, and encounter nomadic shepherds along the way. With moderate difficulty, this trek is ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking a Himalayan escape away from the crowds.
Arrive in Srinagar and drive (2–3 hours) to the historical village of Naranag, nestled in the foothills of the Harmukh range. Set up camp or check in to a guesthouse. Briefing and acclimatization walk in the evening.
Start the trek with a steady climb through dense pine forests. Cross streams and ascend to the meadows of Trunkhol. The landscape opens up with views of nearby peaks and alpine pastures. Camp overnight at Trunkhol
Continue the trail towards the twin alpine lakes of Nundkol and Gangbal, located at the base of the majestic Mount Harmukh. Spend the day exploring, relaxing, and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Camp beside Gangbal Lake under a canopy of stars.
Enjoy a well-earned rest day. You may take a short hike around Gangbal Lake, fish in the crystal-clear waters (with permission), or simply relax amidst unmatched mountain serenity. Optional hike to higher ridges for panoramic views.
Trek back to Naranag through the same forest trail, descending through meadows and pine groves. Reach Naranag by late afternoon. Celebrate the completion of the trek with a warm Kashmiri-style dinner. Overnight in guesthouse or tents.
After breakfast, bid farewell to the mountains and drive back to Srinagar. Drop-off at your preferred location or airport.
Reserve your ideal trip early for a hassle-free trip; secure comfort and convenience!
